Our story
What started as a direct marketing fulfilment house has evolved with every shift in the industry, from catalogue and mail order through to the explosion of ecommerce.
Today, with locations in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland, Coghlan remains committed to providing a reliable service. CEO Rolf Kater, who joined in 1999, has spent over two decades building the systems, processes, and team that make us a trusted partner for our clients.
Getting your business to market
The challenge of getting your fulfilment operation up and running can seem daunting, but it doesn’t need to be. The key is effective planning, the right business rules and a cost model that flexes with you.
It’s best to plan your fulfilment early, to allow your supply chain to work as cohesively as possible. You may even be able to reduce your overall costs by taking advice from your suppliers and, in particular, your fulfilment provider.
At times, fulfilment requirements can be overlooked or complicated unnecessarily. It’s the simple things that matter most: product labelling, capturing barcode information and clearly labelling inner and outer shipping cartons. Getting these right from the start makes a world of difference to the cost and quality of your fulfilment process.
Good systems are critical. Without them, there’s room for lost orders, picking errors, delayed shipments and stock discrepancies. You might find it easy enough to manage five orders a day, but what happens when your volumes take off? It’s important to implement the right business rules and tailored processes from the get go so you’re ready for growth when it comes.
At Coghlan, we pride ourselves on implementing robust and scalable business processes that not only support your business today, but set you up for future success.
Your customers expect
fast. We deliver it.
So, if you’re in the business of physically moving goods from point to point, you can’t afford to be playing catch-up. Your customers deserve better than that.
In recognition of those expectations, at Coghlan we aim to dispatch all orders received by 2pm on the same day. Our carrier pick up arrangements have been structured to maximise the window required to achieve same day dispatch (conditions apply), and depending on your selected carrier option and geographical time zones, this is easily achieved.
What’s more, you can choose whether your orders are forwarded as they are generated or in batch quantities. This is the recommended option for larger orders in particular, to avoid bottlenecks at the end of the day and to help us get your orders to your customers as fast as possible.
Get better value from your
time and money
By outsourcing your fulfilment requirements, you get to enjoy the benefits of Coghlan’s bulk purchasing power, which means more money stays in your pocket. You also get to enter into a flexible world where you only pay for what you consume, when you consume it. No fixed overhead, no wasted spend.
By storing your inventory in one of three strategically located, secure warehouses, you’ll find plenty more room around the house to kick back and relax with your friends and family.
So ask yourself this: how much time, money and energy would you save if you outsourced your fulfilment? The answer? A lot.
Focus on growing
your business
And where do you find the time to source new customers and grow your business?
You can outsource your needs to the people who have made a living providing fulfilment services for almost 40 years. With extensive industry experience and the IT systems and technology to match, you can rest assured Coghlan will help you make the right decisions, satisfy your customers and work with you to implement the proper systems to grow your business.
By outsourcing your fulfilment needs, you’ll be able to run your business from anywhere. And that means more time to focus on the things most important to you.
Other key advantages
No fixed contract term: you’re free to leave at any time (given your bills are paid of course, fair is fair!).
Variable cost: your storage is billed on a weekly basis for bulk pallets and shelving as required, so if your business has a seasonal side to it, your storage costs will mirror that pattern.
Secure facilities: your materials and products are protected in Coghlan’s facilities with back to base alarms, long serving trusted employees and after hours security, fences and gates.
Transport options: Coghlan’s distribution options including air, road and sea freight, both domestic and international, are based on extremely competitive costs to suit all of your transport needs.
Information: Coghlan’s intuitive and easy to use online support will ensure you remain up to date with everything you need to know about the status of your orders and inventory.
Independence: you can make most changes to your requirements without having to track down a customer service agent, meaning you’re in control 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
